Wife Aids Husband in Escape

Shelly Rose Deleeuw Godwin is wanted by the FBI for aiding in her husband's escape from the Folsom State Prison. While her husband, Glen Godwin, was incarcerated at Folsom State Prison, Shelly Godwin was able to visit because, somehow, Godwin's prison files were tampered with wich resulted in a reclassification to a medium security facility. Shelly Godwin was Godwin's most frequent visitor at Folsom, and prison officials believe that Shelly communicated her husband's detailed escape plans to an outside accomplice. With Shelly's help, Glen Godwin was able to hire an accomplice to break into Folsom, so he would have a pathway to get out. In January 1988, Shelly Godwin was classified as a federal fugitive for her role in her husband's escape.
