Sex Offender Allegedly Takes Off With Florida Teen

Florida authorities issued an AMBER alert Thursday morning for 17-year-old Dialys Ramos. According to officials, Dialys was kidnapped by convicted sex offender Robert Laird. Now, Dialys has been found safe in Pompano Beach, FL. Police say Laird left his home armed with a handgun and left a note that he planned to commit suicide. The note also contained instructions for his friends to get money to give to his parents and ex-wife, police say. According to authorities, shortly after Dialys disappeared, Laird called a family member and did not say anything, but the family member told police they heard a young girl in the background. Laird was previously convicted of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim 12 to 15 years old, police said.
