Case Story

Cops Say Ex-con Brutally Beats Man

The Connecticut State Police and the New Haven FBI are seeking Julian Lockhart. According to officials, Lockhart beat Robert Glidden to death with a tree branch on Thursday, May 9, 2002. Police say that Robert Glidden, a young Navy vet with no criminal record, posted an ad in the local newspaper advertising his 1989 Ford Mustang for sale. Police say that Robert went with Lockhart for a test drive in his Mustang, but Robert Glidden never returned home. On Sunday afternoon, May 12, police found Glidden's Mustang, without its license plates and partially burned, in a commuter parking lot in Cheshire, CT. On Monday evening, a police line search found the body of Robert Glidden in the woods.
