Witnesses Take Law into Own Hands
When police in Wyoming, Michigan arrived at the scene of a car accident they found something they never expected - a crowd of people detaining two men. The crowd had just seen the two men slam their car into another vehicle that was trying to make a U-turn. Trapped inside the vehicle was Ramonda Washington, who died almost instantly. Police say one of the men being detained was Juan Carlos Gutierrez. The crowd told police that Gutierrez was the driver of the SUV that had slammed into the car Ramonda was riding in. As the facts unfolded, police discovered that Gutierrez and his brother had been drinking all night and decided to get some food. After the accident, Gutierrez and his brother crawled through the front window of their SUV and tried to run, but before they could get away the crowd grabbed the men and refused to let them go before police arrived.
Skipped Town
Gutierrez and his brother had several cuts to their faces, so police took them to the hospital. While they were there, police were able to have blood work done to find out if Gutierrez had alcohol in his system. Gutierrez was released until the test came back. The test came back the next day and police say it proved Gutierrez was drunk. But when they went to arrest Gutierrez, he had skipped town and hasn't been seen since.
