Case Story

Fake Identities, Arson, and Murder

Police say Hazel Head is a woman with a sordid past.  Cops have been looking for her since 1991, and have found she's left a string of men all over the country.  Sadly, one man who let her into his life did not make it out alive.  Cops say Hazel Head's days on the run began in Lincoln, Nebraska, when she allegedly set her boyfriend's trailer on fire.  No one was injured, but investigators later determined that the fire was arson.  However, the accused was no where to be found.   And she would remain on the run until another boyfriend met his fate. On September 2, 1998, police in Benton, Louisiana, discovered the remains of Charles Barker.  He had been shot in the back of the head and left for dead.  He had been killed approximately five days earlier, and his money and car had disappeared.  Investigators quickly had a suspect, the victim's new live-in girlfriend, Deianna Ray.  Prints and evidence taken from the scene revealed the true identity of the woman cops were searching for.  Her real name is Hazel Head.    Investigators say Head likes to place personal ads as a way to meet men.  In fact, that's how she met Barker.  Cops say she is a dangerous woman and any person she comes into contact with is a potential victim.
