Case Story
Attacks On The U.S. Abroad
The FBI reports that Fahid Msalam has been formally indicted for his alleged role in the August 7, 1998 attacks on two U.S embassies in Africa. Msalam is said to be a key player in the truck bomb explosions in Kenya and Tanzania. Several government agencies report that over 5,000 people were injured in the attacks, while 257 were killed. According to the U.S. Department of State, these bombings opened the door for U.S. involvement in international terrorism prevention. The U.S. government says Msalam should be considered armed and dangerous and is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information leading directly to his capture.
