A Room With A View -- Of A Day Care Center

When law enforcement in Bismarck, N.D. learned that there was a potential predator in their community, they launched an investigation. But when they pinpointed exactly where the man lived, the race to find him increased tenfold. Cops say Eric Lacey lived in an apartment right across the street from a day care center. So the allegation that he may have child pornography sent the FBI into high alert. They hit the apartment in March 2007 and found just what they expected -- child pornography. What they didn't find was Eric Lacey. The FBI searched Lacey's records and found that he'd run afoul of the law in the past. Agents say in August 1991, Lacey was arrested in Wayne County, Penn. He was charged with Rape, Deviant Sexual Intercourse, Burglary, Trespass, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Theft and Harassment. It's important to note that his NCIC report does not say whether he'd been convicted of those crimes.
