Case Story

Off-Duty Police Officer Shot Dead

On November 14, 2000, police say that Antonio Huntsman shot and killed Officer Clayton Hicks in Memphis, TN. Cops say Officer Hicks was off-duty and hanging out with his brother, Chris, at a friend's house when he was brutally murdered. Police say that Clayton and Chris were having a good time until Clayton started arguing with a woman at the party. The woman's boyfriend, Antonio Huntsman, came to her side and started arguing with Clayton himself. The Hicks brothers turned to leave the party, and as they left, police say Huntsman struck Officer Hicks on the head. At that point, officials say Officer Hicks advised everyone that the party was over, and he started walking to his car. According to officials, Huntsman appeared at the doorway of the home and taunted Officer Hicks. When he turned around, police say Huntsman fired his assault rifle three times, killing Officer Hicks.
